Video Editor and Videographer/cinematographer

GREGG JADEN STUDIOS is looking for a smart, organized, technically well rounded Video Editor to support our Video team with Primary and Assistant Editing responsibilities.  We are looking for someone who is already a strong editor, who is looking to learn how to edit in a variety of GREGG JADEN styles, and ultimately wants a long-term career in a fast-paced Post Production department.

The position is based in our Manhattan Beach office, and compensation is negotiable. Working virtual is also an option.  Not to mention – a super collaborative work environment overflowing with perks ranging from being in professional studio lots (Manhattan Beach Studios) and the  opportunity create music videos, feature films and documentaries. Client adventures include world travel, expeditions and customized cutting edge content creation.

Responsibilities:

Communicate and coordinate with the Post Production Department, Creative Producers, and Series’ Editors on a daily basis  
Assist with with GJS file offloading, verification and backup of footage/media  
Quickly sync and organize Raw footage within Premiere Pro
Ensure proper backups and archives are made  
Assemble and edit string outs, full scenes, and videos for a variety of GJS teams  
Assist with troubleshooting post issues: audio mix, color, Premiere problems  
Be comfortable at working in a fast-paced, changing environment

Requirements:

At least 2-3 years professional experience editing with a variety of samples to show
knowledge of digital media including codecs, image types, resolutions, frame rates
Experience with music videos and passion projects. Strong sense for storytelling. 
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder and After Effects
Must be an organized, technical, and creative individual at the same time
Color and sound finishing experience is a plus
Must have excellent writing and grammar skills

Has a positive professional attitude and a strong passion for storytelling
Is very organized, motivated, thorough, accountable and professional with out of the box thinking
Is based in Manhattan Beach but not required
Ability to work remotely
Can work flexible hours depending on project requirements
Respects Strict Confidentiality with a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which is required on all projects.

The Video Editor:

Has strong experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Davinci Resolve (or has a passion to learn it inside and out!)
Owns a MacBook Pro Laptop, iMac, or Mac Pro Tower with editing software installed on it (if not, please still apply as we may be able to accommodate you)
Owns an external hard drive with available hard drive space for projects (2-4TB)
Takes direction well and can look through hours of raw footage and determine what shots/scenes are good
selections to include in a cut
Has experience with (or an interest in learning) Color Correction
Has experience with (or an interest in learning) Sound Design / Sound Mixing
Has experience with (or an interest in learning) VFX and other editing software including
Adobe After Affects
Collaborates well within a team environment
Knows Photoshop or Motion Graphics (HUGE PLUS but not required)

The Ideal Camera Operator:

Owns an HD camera and some lenses (DSLR/Mirrorless Sony Preferred etc.) and has solid camera operating experience. Please specify when you apply. 
Has experience in lighting and stabilizers
Operation of Cinema cameras such as RedCinema a bonus but not required
Is patient, professional and takes direction on set
Loves to shoot and edit what they shoot!

Film Editing Internship (Adobe Premiere, Documentaries, Narratives, Music Videos)

GREGG JADEN STUDIOS (GJS) is an established production company based in Manhattan Beach CA, in conjunction with Broadwave Agency - an Award Winning Digital Agency 

GJS is seeking to fill the following (unpaid) intern positions for Spring/Summer/Fall 2018 Semesters depending on course load. 

Only college students receiving academic credit will be considered

Assistant Editor(s) -- Full or part time internship on Feature Films, Documentaries,
Music Videos, Commercials, TV Pilots

Sound Design Intern-- For interns looking to pursue a career in production and post production sound work including sound recording, sound FX, Foley work and sound mixing

Development / Script Coverage -- Full or part-time internship reading and covering scripts under development and pre-production with Gregg Jaden Studios. This internship also includes hands on screenplay writer’s assistant duties.

Documentary Intern --- Internship focus will be primarily on editing and developing Documentary Projects as well as other works of non-fiction. Part of Gregg Jaden Studios company mission is to produce socially conscious documentary projects that focus on promoting positive change.

Camera Operator / Assistant -- Part-time position on various shoots throughout the semester

Note: All interns will have the opportunity to join our crew on several ongoing productions throughout the semester for our current roster of Feature Films, Documentaries, TV pilots, Web Videos, Commercials and Music Videos.

Our current projects include:

Narrative Feature Films currently in Post Production
Feature Film in Pre-production
Narrative Short Films in Pre-Production and Post-Production
Multiple MUSIC VIDEOS for pre-
production / post-production
Other Documentaries on current international social and political issues

The Ideal Intern:
